This piece is about
to be retired.
This was the first cover I did for Dragon Magazine back in 1985, and it's quite possibly one of the most popular pieces of art that I have ever done.
It took forever to get all the scales finished! There are something like seven layers of paint on every one of them. And you can see how many there are. (The scales in the corners don't show a thief sneaking up on the hapless pair, by the way, as was once reported in Dragon. They show the artist at her easel, working away on the painting.)
Originally a limited edition of 250 11x14 prints, I had so many requests for this one that I decided to come out with another extremely limited edition of 25 in the 18x24 inch size. But those, too, have long since sold out, and people keep asking for this print.
So here it is in a smaller size, open edition, and a regular Epson print instead of a photoprint. Enjoy!
The print has an image area roughly 8x10 inches and comes matted on a piece of foam-core board. Open edition, signed by the artist. $25 + $7 shipping and handling.
The huge print has an image area roughly 12.5x16 inches. Matted on foam core, limited edition of 100 prints, signed by the artist. $45 + $7 shipping and handling.
