Inner Imagery Theater This runs like a movie, so that's how I'm transcribing it. Cosmo appears in the doorway, and says, "Hello my friend! Sophia and I were just watching a Mind Movie we made last week. It's fantastic! You need to check it out. "In order to run the Inner Imagery Theater, you and another person will be using the sensors together. The Imagination Tour does not work with only one person, although in a pinch, I suppose you could pretend you are two people. "So find yourself someone to join you, and call them over here to work with you. When you and your friend are ready, come on in! Sophia is waiting for you." When you enter the theater, the two of them are seated, with their backs to you. Sophia looks over her shoulder and says, "Ah! Hello there. It's nice to see you again. We are going to have a wonderful experience. Okay, to begin, you and your partner need to place one finger in the Magic Rings. (they do so.) "Touch your fingers like this" (they touch index fingers) Cosmo says, "Or hold hands for this exercise." (they do so.) "When our energies are connected, you will hear the sound of the Imagery Theater firing up. Ah, good, there we go." ** If, at any time after this, you stop touching fingers, the Theater will stop, and Cosmo will say, "The Imagery Theater has been disconnected. Please, put your fingers back on the sensory pads, and hold hands." ** Once the top of the theatre pulls back, Sophia says, "Now Cosmo and I will challenge each other with a variety of images which we will ask each other to experience. We will have a timer that dings in the appropriate place when the time is up; two minutes, or whatever length of time." Cosmo says, "Sophia, I want you to see or imagine waves rolling in on a beach." Sophia says, "Cosmo, I want you to see, or imagine, a sunset." Cosmo says, "Sophia, I want you to see or imagine a bright yellow sunflower." Sophia says, "Cosmo, I want you to see, or imagine, your own shadow stretching out in front of you on the ground." ** Sophia says, "Now you and your partner go to it. Challenge each other with visual images. We'll get into other kinds of imagery later. Make sure you give each other several moments to actually see, or imagine, each image as it is suggested. Begin by addressing each other by name, as you ask your partner to see, or imagine, a visual image. "I will give you two minutes. When the time is up, a bell will ring. Please begin." ** After two minutes, a bell rings. ** Cosmo says, "Now we will give each other auditory images. "Sophia, I want you to hear someone playing a guitar." Sophia says, "Cosmo, I want you to hear a dog barking." Cosmo says, "I want you to hear water rushing down a river." Sophia says, "I want you to hear a great storm." ** Cosmo says, "Alright, now you and your partner give each other auditory images." ** After two minutes, a bell rings. ** Cosmo says, "Now we will go back and forth, suggesting different tastes to each other, addressing each other by name. "Sophia, I want you to taste ice cream." Sophia says, "Cosmo, I want you to taste a crisp, juicy apple." Cosmo says, "Sophia, I want you to taste peas with wild mushroom sauce." Sophia says, "Cosmo, I want you to taste a green bean casserole." Cosmo says, "Now, with your partner, go back and forth on tastes. You can make them as simple, or as complex, as you wish." ** After two minutes, a bell rings. ** Cosmo says, "Now we will give each other images of touch. "Sophia, I want you to run your hands through the fur of a fluffy dog." Sophia says, "Cosmo, run your hand over the bark of a tree." Cosmo says, "Sophia, I want you to scoop up a handful of sand on the beach." Sophia says, "Cosmo, I want you to stick your hand into a very cold stream." Cosmo says, "Ahh! I feel it!" "Now I want you and your partner to give each other tactile images; images of touch sensations." ** After two minutes, a bell rings. ** Cosmo says, "Now we will explore images of smell. "Sophia, I want you to smell a green meadow after the rain." Sophia says, "Cosmo, smell bread baking." Cosmo says, "Sophia, smell a cow barn!" Sophia says, "Cosmo, smell an orange being peeled." Cosmo says, "Now, with your partner, give each other smell suggestions." ** After two minutes, a bell rings. ** Cosmo says, "Now we will challenge one another with moving images. "Sophia, you are walking along the beach, and happen to look up, and see a para-sail gliding through the sky." Sophia says, "Cosmo, imagine a hot-air balloon, floating through the sky," Cosmo says, "Sophia, you are watching a coyote as it wanders on the snowy ground at dusk." Sophia says, "Cosmo, imagine a rock being tossed across a frozen lake." Cosmo says, "Now give each other images with a lot of movement in them." ** After two minutes, a bell rings. ** Cosmo says, "Now we will give each other complex images that involve multiple senses. "Sophia, you are riding down a busy street on a bicycle, chewing on a great wad of bubble gum in your mouth, passing and smelling a chocolate shop." Sophia says, "Cosmo, you are sitting by a stream, with your feet in the water, holding, on your right, the hand of a very old man, and on the left, the hand of a very young child, while you recite a poem that you learned as a child." Then Cosmo says, "Now you and your partner give each other complex, multi-sensory images." ** After two minutes, a bell rings. ** Cosmo says, "Now we will do together a mutually created composite image in which we build on each other's images to create a mutually invented story. Observe as we do it. "Sophia, we find ourselves in a great prairie with tall grasses waving in the wind." Sophia says, "There's a herd of buffalo grazing in that prairie." Cosmo says, "On the bluff above the prairie, there are several Indian braves carrying bows and arrows, looking at the buffalo." Sophia says, "The Indians begin to climb quietly down the bluff." Cosmo says, "They are distracted when they hear a fresh-water perch jumping in a nearby stream."
