Example of Threaded Screws

Threading a Screw

Some things Screwy!

I've had several people ask me how to make threads for a screw in Lightwave. It seemed easier to do a tutorial than to try to explain it all in words. So, if you are interested, this is one method to put threads on a screw, using the Lathe Tool in Lightwave!

It's designed so anyone can use it, even if they are beginners in the program. On the other hand, if you are already comfortable with basic modeling, and just want to add the threads, you can skip ahead to that part. No plug-ins are used in this method, so it's something that anyone can do with Lightwave 7.5 right out of the box. Enjoy!

If this page has come loose from the frame it's supposed to be in, or is in someone else's frame, just click here, then choose Threading a Screw from the list on the left.
